For your child to get started off in baby modeling, they need to have the desire and the ability to model. If you aren't an American citizen, your child will need a work permit. Ensure that your agency know all these rules, this will help ensure that your child doesn't get exploited. Such information should be availed by the agents; if you find out that the agency doesn't want to reveal such information about their work policy, then take precautions or get another modeling agency.
A modeling agency that is good and well reputable should be able to support the baby modeling career. An agent will be honest with you about your child's potential as a model. If your child doesn't have the right look for the modeling industry, an agent will let you know. However, some quack agencies will try to exploit your child by giving you bad advice about getting the kid to undergo cosmetics surgery. Never agree to this; if the agent says that you child's teeth need some work done, that's ok. When an agent tells you that your child's nose needs to get fixed, then that's just ridiculous. As a parent, your kid's safety should also be your main priority. Also avoid agencies that you be forced to change your child's appearance even if it's not with surgery. For instance, for African American, an agent may try to get you to lighten/bleach your child's skin by using some chemical products. This is not the right agent for you.
A baby modeling doesn't just involve the babies. It involves commitment and active participation by the parent. As a parent/guardian, before you get your kid into the fashion industry, ensure that you discuss this with your spouse. You should be sure that you have the time too.
