Baby Gift Hampers
A friend of mine has just given birth and trying to decide what to buy her has been very difficult! There is so much choice for babies
, not to mention lots of speciality shops from which to try and select your choice! You can get personalised gifts or practical gifts such as clothes or things that you think the parents may need, but how do you possibly know what the new parents need or don't need? Add to this the fact that most of the time you don't know if the baby is going to be a boy or a girl, which makes it difficult to get your gift to them directly after the birth as most people would like to do.
I have discovered the solution, and would like to share it with you now. Gift hampers allow you to get a multitude of gifts put together for the baby and can depend entirely on your budget or your theme. You could have a practical gift hamper full of all the things that you can envisage the baby might need, such as baby bottles, bibs, babygrows, a blanket, some hand socks to protect the baby from scratching its' face, maybe even some muslin squares. Nappies are another good idea for new parents - no parent realises the amount that they are going to get through, so they will most definitely be used! Make sure you do find out if the new parents are intending on using 'real' nappies or terry towelling ones. Some parents may even want to use environmentally friendly disposables - with so many choices of nappies to choose from these days it's definitely best to check before purchasing!
Or else you could maybe have a 'not-so-practical' hamper with not-so-necessary bits and pieces, for example a rattle, a baby mobile, a cuddly toy, or even a picture frame or baby diary to document the first years of the newborns life. If the new parents don't know (or don't want to divulge) the sex of the baby then make sure to buy neutral colours!
An alternative to buying gifts for the baby is a gift hamper for the mum. Everyone knows that after carrying a baby for nine months, and then giving birth to it, the new mum can be pretty worn out and in need of some tender loving care before she even starts her new job as a mum to a newborn baby! Things that will be appreciated are a bottle of bubbly to toast the new baby, or some massage oils, a voucher for a manicure or to get their hair done, and of course chocolate is always a good present!
Gift hampers are a way for you to put your own individually handpicked presents together in a lovely package. You can put together your own hamper by using a basket, some shredded coloured paper to place at the bottom of the basket, some cellophane to cover it all up with and some nice ribbon to make it look even more fancy. If you don't fancy or feel able to put a baby hamper together you can go to gifthampers.me.uk to buy a beautiful pre-made hamper to welcome either a baby boy or girl into the world.
