All Business Involves Sales

No matter what anyone tells you, know for certain that in any business you are in sales. I said ANY business. One of my biggest pet peeves from my network marketing days is when leaders of companies and teams would tell new distributors or anyone in their down line "You dont have to sell," or "This isnt selling."

This sets many people up for failure because they have been brainwashed that they dont have to do or get good at the number one activity in all of business: influencing a transaction that turns a prospect into a customer. Think about it, if a sale isnt made to someone somewhere, no revenue is made; zilch, nada, not a dime. If you dont have revenue, you dont have a business.

So what that means is that no matter what business you are in, you need to develop your sales skills. Execute them relentlessly and with great consistency. My good friends Cheri Tree and Kecia Witmer are known for having at one time been the number one money earners and record holders for a very well known real estate education company. They jumped from six to seven figures in that business when they both made well over $220,000 in a single month together.

However, what most people dont know about Cheri and Kecias success is that the month before that first huge check they made less than $10,000. But Cheri and Kecia were professional sales folks and they knew exactly what to do: keep packing that funnel and continue to prospect and present and the very next month the main line broke and they became millionaires.

A big part of having a Multi-Million Dollar Mindset is knowing that your success will come largely from focusing on key revenue generating activities and carrying them out with relentless consistency. Unfortunately sales is often the last skill that many entrepreneurs develop because weve been trained that its evil.

My friend and mentor Pastor Oliver Cartes talks about this all the time that we live in a society where we are trained that its bad or dishonest or unethical to sell someone something or to attempt to sell someone something, but that its okay to consume massively and to do into debt and to spend all of our hard earned money on stuff that really has no value at the end of the day.

How consistent have you been with your activity lately? No need to beat yourself up if you havent been, just get back up on the horse and dont get off until all of your goals have been reached and then some. Just make sure that what you do you are focusing on those things that will produce the most bottom line results or revenue in the shortest period of time.

So often business people mistake worthless activity for building a business. This is one of the most insidious traps that new and inexperienced entrepreneurs in particular tend to fall into. Without the proper mentorship it can be easy to become overwhelmed with the responsibility of producing consistent results and to fool oneself into thinking that mere activity is moving your forward when it is not. Always remember that if nothing is being sold, there is no business.

Focus on results producing sales activity in your business and everything else will take care of itself.
