There are 72 million people that are overweight in the US alone. The media isn't helping. the tabloids are full of celebrities trying to lose weight. They have to be a size 0 now. Health and nutrition seem to go by the wayside. Diet pills seem to be the faster way but they come with side effects that can have long-term ramifications.

But there are healthy ways to lose your weight faster. Here are some of them:

Exercise. I know, I know. It is easier said than done. I suggest you walk more. I usually take the bus home so I get off 2 stops earlier than I normally would and walk the rest. Also, I take the stairs whenever I can. Also, you can get some squats or lunges in when you're watching TV. I haven't been able to make the time to go to the gym. But there are people that swear by it. It takes them out of their current environment and becomes a stress reliever.

Drink More Water. Drink at least 8 glasses a day. I have trouble with this myself. But you might just slowly increasing the amount you drink. Also, there's a trick to hunger pangs. A lot of times, what you think as hunger maybe thirst. Try drinking a glass of water first. That may stop you from snacking on something unhealthy and fattening.

Eat Smaller Portions. Put food on your plate as you normally would cut that in half.

Eat More Meals. This seems unworkable but it works. If you skip a meal then it is only logical that you will eat more at the next meal. If you spread out your meals you feel less hungry and less deprived of food. It helps you keep to your diet plan.

Find Foods That You Like. I know what you're thinking - chips, cake, cookies - am I right? I was thinking of foods that you would eat when a healthy lifestyle or diet. For example, what kind of fruits do you like? If you don't like berries, don't eat them, eat something you like.
