The Eureka Boss Smart Vac 4870mz Vs. a Bagless - Does A Bagless Really Save You Money Over The Long Term?

I'm studying a lot about vacuums recently, including the Eureka Smart Vac 4870mz. I'm in the market for a new vacuum, and am contemplating buying an expensive bagless vacuum cleaner. But I have always had a vacuum with bags. Do I select the Dyson dc25 Vacuum or the Eureka Smart Vacuum 4870mz? Both models are perfect for my use: on/off brush bar switch, HEPA filter, awesome suction capabilities & versatility. The blatantly only difference is: The Dyson dc25 Animal is bagless and the Eureka Vacuum 4870mz uses a bag. And let us take a closer look at the price... Are bagless vacuum cleaners really money saving... enough to justify the cost? If you absolutely do not like buying bags, then the answer becomes yes indeed. changing a bag doesn't bother me too much. So this is the cost difference that I've discovered. You can get a 1 year supply kit for the Eureka Smart Vac 4870mz for around $24. That comes with eighteen Eureka style RR bags, 1 Eureka HEPA filter, a new belt, & two motor filters. As per the manufacturer, it advises changing a bag once per 1-2 months, the HEPA filter & motor filter bi-annually, and replacing the belt once per 12 months. Even if you add one extra HEPA filter to the 1 year supply kit, that's still only $31 bucks a year to maintain optimum performance of your Eureka Smart Vacuum 4870mz. The vacuum itself costs around $130, Which means you could buy 7 years worth of the "1 year supply kits" and even STILL come in under the price of the Dyson dc25 sale. The Dyson dc25 Vacuum has a good 5 year warranty on labor/parts, but if your filter acquires a foul odor or needs replaced for another reason, the warranty will not cover its replacement. For a vacuum that performs well, has a decent HEPA filtration system, & has the versatility for doing a good job on all floor coverings , the Eureka Smart Vac 4870mz fits my pocketbook.
