Taylormade Burner Rescue Hybrid Reviews
As a former softball player turned grip-it-and-rip-it hacker, I hit some good shots and some bad shots. Needing a long club to bridge my Burner driver and Burner 3 wood to my irons, this club has far exceeded my expectations. I've played two rounds with it and have yet to hit a bad shot. It gets the ball up and carries far and straight. Every shot feels solid and makes a sweet, solid ping sound. (Burner Rescue Hybrid)Definitely worth the money!
Review 1:
I play the #3 and #4 (19* and 22* I think) with the stock stiff steel. I've had them for about a month or so and I think they're pretty nice. I've hit or owned (or both lol) every popular hybrid that's been out in the past few years and until the burner rescues I haven't really found any I have complete confidence in whenever I have one in my hands. I like the way these set up better than the rescue and rescue duals (I've owned both) with the slightly shallower face and the deeper profile. I get a high trajectory but somewhat flat with good distance. They feel solid and the face feels hot. I can take or leave the graphics on the crown although I feel it does help with alignment if you need it. They're solid performers all the way around..if you like the way they set up I'm sure you'll like the way they play.
Oh..one other thing. There is a slight draw-bias to these I think but nothing too severe. With the rescue mid and dual (sometimes) I would be prone to a high hook and really had to work sometimes to keep it from going too far left. The Burner Rescues I hit either straight or with a tight draw. Nothing uncontrollable and nothing I feel like I have to work or think about to keep it in play. Face is pretty square.
Review 2:
I took a 19* out for a demo a couple of weeks ago and I was very impressed. As mentioned by others, there is a slight draw bias (offset) and the head has a low-profile shape. I've had a 7 wood in my bag for the last couple of years so I prefer a hybrid shaped like the wood rather than an iron. (TaylorMade R9 TP irons)I agree that the face "feels" hot and produces a nice sound. The stock stiff shaft was light but not too wippy'.
Overall, very impressed, I ended up with a Precept ECU that I've reshafted with a NVS 85-X but I wouldn't hesitate to put the Burner Hybrid in play, just watch for the draw bias. If Taylormade would come out with a Burner Hybrid TP that setup neutral, my wallet would be hurting.
