It is a very exciting venture preparing to welcome a new baby in the family

. Getting the babys room ready, making sure everything in the home is baby safe, and of course, shopping for baby clothes. Those adorable little newborn jumpers that you see online and in the store can make any parent spend all their money on clothes for kids but before you take out that credit card, there are a few things that you need to know. When shopping for newborn baby clothes, you need to shop in stages and never buy more than five pieces of one item. While this figure may sound like a small amount, you will thank me in the future.

However, why should you only buy such a small amount of clothes when shopping for baby clothes?

When shopping for newborn clothes, you never know what your baby will look like, how much he will weigh, or for how long he will carry this weight. Listen to my foolish advice. While I am not an expert shopper, I am a mother of a young babe and I had to learn this the hard way. When my son was born, he weighed a mere 7lbs; therefore, all his newborn and 0-3 months baby clothes fitted him perfectly. However, by the time he was one month, I had to start shopping for new clothes for kids because he grew these out in no time. At his one month photo opt he was wearing 3-6 months clothing and by two months, I had to start shopping for 6-9 month clothing. While my son is not baby hulk, he does grow fast (maybe a little faster than others) and this is why, you need to limit the amount of baby clothes you buy at a time.

I know it is very easy to do impulse shopping when you are shopping for a new baby and this impulse is even greater when shopping for your very first child. This impulse however can be controlled. Yes it is hard but it is a good idea to invest some money in other things such as crib beddings and maybe some toys that you know will last your little one for a period of time instead of buying a house full of newborn baby clothes that they will only wear for a few weeks.

Take this into consideration when shopping clothes for kids and newborn baby clothes

Children grow very fast and before they get to 13, you will probably have to change their wardrobe at least three times each year. However, this figure can be reduced if you shop wisely and buy clothes for kids that are roomy. Buying your little bundles clothing one size bigger is wise and it is even wiser, if you buy these clothing two sizes too big. This advice is especially important when buying clothes for newborn babies and other infants. When shopping for newborn clothing, include some 3-6 months and even some 6-9 months is wise because if you should deliver a 10lb infant, you will thank your luck stars that you did.

Armed with this advice, go out and do some shopping and if impulse take over, buy some 6-9 months baby clothes and let your baby grow into these.
