1. Honesty remains the best policy. When you get older, you tend to value honesty even more. When describing themselves to others online; seniors just say it as it is. Instead of the younger adults who tend to boast and even exaggerate about a lot of things; including their dating life, love life, social status, sex life and night life.
2. Friendship comes first. Let's be honest, when you go on online dating, what do you look for? A potential partner? A fling? A date? A one night stand? For seniors, they would prioritise friendship first and being compatible with the person; rather than all the claims that they say. This does make sense. Why? If you are looking for a potential partner then look beyond the superficial. If you are too keen on the looks, you might overlook the personality. In order to bond with someone, you should at least have similarities and common interests. If you don't you'd get bored easily and your relationship won't last long.
3. Post a recent picture. You may look healthier, younger, slimmer from your five years out of date pic; but posting the said pic will just begin your dating life with deception and disappointment. It's already a mistake in the beginning. This is a mistake that senior daters don't make. Most seniors stick to their recent pics, that makes then genuine and successful as daters. They are comfortable in their skin. Compared to those younger daters that pose, pout and have their pictures edited; chances of success for these daters are just so-so.
Also, don't just state your hobbies or your talent, you can show it on your photos. If you have a talent, is artistic or sporty; show it. It makes a great difference than just reading about it.
4. Avoid playing games. Seniors are more of the "seize the moment" types instead of those idling younger daters who prefer to play around. If some daters often leave the dating world for days and takes days before responding, seniors do otherwise. They don't want to waste time and reply promptly as possible.
