Need Help Losing Weight? Then You Need To Set Goals Part 2
Now following on from yesterday when you set your goals you will see how easy it is to actually achieve your goals when you follow the right steps. The best way to do this is by chunking, this is about breaking it down into bite size pieces. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time' it's really that simple.
This is something about goal setting that most people and books don't go into or spend enough time on and it really is the most important part, THE PLAN or as Tony Robbins says Massive Action Plan (MAP)' which I love the most so I am going to use it with credit to Tony Robbins for it.
So lets say your goal is to go from your current weight of lets say 100kgs and you want to be 70kgs but you also want to get to less than 10% body fat and have 6 pack abs and a great looking physique. What would be the first step in getting to this goal by 3rd October 2011 and lets say it's now March 16th. Lets write a list of the top 3 things you would need to do to achieve your goal in this time. What are the 3 main things you need to achieve this goal?
1 Motivation
2 Exercise
3 Eat right
So now what you do is break this down into smaller parts lets work on Motivation for example, what are the top 3 things you need to do to achieve the right motivation towards your goal?
1 Find and write your reasons why or your leverage (Goal setting part 3 tomorrow)
2 Find a partner to help motivate you
3 Music to pump you up when training
Then you break these goals down again, lets work on finding music to pump you up when training and keep you motivated, what would be the next 3 things you would need to do?
1 Get a music device i.e. ipod, stereo in home gym.
2 Find songs that get your blood pumping and really make you want to move and dance.
3 Make a mix of these songs and create a playlist or cd for you to easy access and listen to when you work out.
Then you again break these down into little bite size pieces that you can do each day in no time at all. It really is that simple when you know how. That is the lesson for today on how to achieve your weight loss goals and help you to lose weight one little bit at a time.
Now you can go ahead and put this into practice in your life with your goals. Break it down and down until it's so small and easy it takes no time at all. I find the hardest part of setting and achieving goals is the doing part as we procrastinate more than we should but when you break your goals down you can see how really simple and easy they can be to achieve.
Another quick tip: never leave the sight of a goal without actually doing something towards it's achievement as that way you will keep the momentum going and are more likely to succeed.
The most successful people in the world are in the top 5% of the top 20% of high achievers and they get there by doing what the unsuccessful people don't do.
