Setting goals is the easiest thing you will do when it comes to losing the weight you want. If you don't set a goal how do you know where you are going. Imagine AFL without the goal posts it would just be two teams of guys running around kicking the ball with no idea of what was happening or who was winning, What would be the point? Did you get the picture? Without goals there is no point and you will give up and go back to your old patterns and lifestyle.

If you really want to lose weight, look great and be proud to take your shirt off at the beach or pool then you need to set goals. Goal setting is easy when you follow a simple system. I use and prefer the Create method which I was taught by Chris Howard at one of his Break Through to Success weekend seminars and I will never forget that weekend for the rest of my life as it really motivated me and changed my life. I remember being so lost and really stuck but after that weekend I saw a whole new world and life, I realised that I can achieve anything I can dream and it is only me stopping me and getting in my way. It was truly awesome and really worth the weekend of my time.

So back to the CREATE goal setting method or as I call it The Create Your Life Method':

C in create stands for Concise & Clear this means it should be written so that anyone reading it could just achieve it, being very specific so that they could carry it out according to your dreams.

R stands for Realistic, this is about writing your goal so that it is achievable by you and that you know you can achieve it. It is realistic to you, once you achieve your goals then set bigger and bigger ones.

E stands for Ecological, meaning no harm to self or others. This is very important as I have heard a story of a man who set a goal to lose 7 kgs and while crossing the road got run over and lost his leg and it weighed you guessed it 7kgs, so be careful what you want and make sure it's of no harm to self or others.

A is for As if Now, this means writing your goal as if you have already achieved it and that you are looking back as if you have what you desire.

T is for Timed & Towards the Positive, you need to have a time frame on it so that you will move towards you goal with pace and be motivated to get up and do it. Make sure it is stated in the positive too, writing what you don't want means you are focusing on the negative and the universe can't understand negatives so it gives you what you focus on. So by writing I don't want to be fat the universe hears only the words fat and that is what you get. So a better way to write it would be I want to be thin weighing only 70kgs (or whatever you want).

E stands for End Step or Evidence Procedure, this is how you know you have achieved you goal. This is like the picture that you visualise in your mind that you have achieved and when you achieve you goal you can see that it came true. What will you be doing, feeling and thinking when you achieve your goal.

So now you have the goal setting steps so lets set your goals. On your marks get set. Goal. He is an example for you so you can see how easy it is, this is based on the fact that your 90kgs and want to weight 70kgs.

It is now October 3rd 2011 and I am in my bathroom standing on the scales in front of the mirror and seeing I only weigh 70kgs I have 6 pack abs and a great looking physique, I feel great and healthy inside and out. I am so grateful to have achieved my goal. (I always like to be thankful and grateful for my life and achieving my goals, this is optional).

So this meets all the Create criteria it's Concise and clear anyone can understand it, it's realistic as 6 months this is definitely achievable, its of no harm to self or others, written In the present tense, has a time frame and has an end step.
