We all know how Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Hudson lost the weight and they look gorgeous. My ideal size is a 10, I don't want to be too skinny. When you are ready to get rid of those extra pounds nothing can stand in your way. When losing weight you want it to be long-term weight loss not just temporarily improving your health and image.

Long-term weight loss should be easy, you should want it, especially the food. I've learned that dieting does not work, not for me anyway because when I am restricted away from my favorite foods it does not work so well for me. My motto is "eat healthy while enjoying your food". Most diets don't work for some people because they are not allowed to even think about their most favored food (uh no!) not for me!

My ambition was to lose weight, lose fat and tone my body and eat my well liked meals at the same time without starving myself to eating one grape a day. That reminds me of someone in the media that was actually eating three grapes a day. Hmmm.I can't remember, but how in the hell can you survive like that? I mean I know she was famished, weak and dizzy, her body had to go into shock! The things women do to lose pounds is just traumatic, they go too far!

You shouldn't feel obligated to eat right, you should love yourself enough to eat right. When you love you, it literally shows physically and mentally. I'm not saying everyone should want to be skinny, I'm just stating that everyone should want to be healthy. I wanted that, I wanted it so much. I wanted to look better and I needed to be at my best without the yo-yo diets.

Do it the right way

Without a doubt I was serious! I was not going to starve myself by drinking coffee all day and smoking my lungs to tar. I was not going to drink those weight loss shakes and only eat once day. The way to do it is by eating well-balanced meals that my body needs, no matter how long it took me to lose weight. I believe slow weight loss is best!

I wasn't too meticulous about my new eating habit. I just switch from fried chicken to baked skinless chicken breast and added more whole grains. Included more salads with my meals and not the fattening salads with bacon bits and loads of cheese. If I wanted cheese I added just a pinch, as long as I could taste it I was fine, I didn't need a whole cup of cheese. I started eating red meat once or twice a week and now eat more salmon and other fish for dinner or lunch.

Whenever I craved something chocolate I would simply eat half of a brownie or ate fruit. It was really convenient for me, when I would do great during the week I would reward my self to one of my favorite meals, just have to remember moderation. I'm still losing weight.

Most importantly your mind has to scream "I want to lose weight now, I'm ready!" If your mind is not into it, you will fail. How did you lose weight?
