This Melaleuca species consists of shrubs and trees roughly the height of a tall human being. It has a rather flaky, peeling bark and the leaves are either as green as spring grass or a sort of grayish hue. It produces a color range of fine feathery flowers from, white to pink, red, light yellow and light green. It also produces a fruit in a tiny capsule with many seeds.
One very well known Melaleuca has an anti-fungal oil and antibiotic. This is known as Tea Tree Oil. There are many known uses for this and from here, a company was born. Melaleuca is also found in other parts of the world such as Hawaii, Florida, Malesia and New Caledonia. While the Australian Aboriginals used the leaves of this plant traditionally for medicinal purposes and the bark from the tree for other uses, Melaleuca has become quite a popular modern day name. That is because it is also used in nutritional products, cosmetics, personal care, house hold products, pharmaceuticals, vitamins and mineral supplements. One such Melaleuca Health and Wellness Company was founded in 1985 and is based in Idaho Falls, Idaho. It has been listed as one of the fastest growing companies for five consecutive years. As with many other company's, it's had it's fair share of controversy. The previously mentioned Tea Tree Oil Melaleuca Company was under scrutiny for a while until it was taken over and quickly dissolved by another existing Melaleuca Company which still produces it's original Tea Tree Oil.
Melaleuca Company is one of the more unique companies who does not like to be labeled as a MLM, or Multi-Level Marketing Company. Their representatives are known as Independent Marketing Executives, where, the company does not practice a lot of The Compensation Plans known today. They say, they encourage their commission structure based on consumer purchases. All in all, the company, Melaleuca focuses on making products that enhance wellness and are safe for home use. They have quite a few awards under their belts and they believe the business side of their product should be conducted with the utmost integrity.
Disadvantages? I suppose one could argue there are disadvantages to this slower marketing approach. If you're in it for the quick buck, this is probably not a prime choice.
Advantages? Well, if you're not in it for the quick buck and are willing to go the mile, this could not only be lucrative, but, enjoyable and interesting as well.
