I hate supplement companies

I hate supplement companies. I really do. Reason is because every time I open up a fitness magazine, all I see are their stupid ads about the newest and latest greatest supplement for fat loss. It's complete bogus and so untrue. They want you to believe that you can't lose fat without supplement. Think back to the old days. People lost weight all the time and bodybuilders lost weight without supplements and so can you. Here's how.

Calorie Shifting: Calorie shifting in my book is the basis of shifting around certain macro nutrients so that they perform better in the body, thus you lose body fat. For example, studies have found that eating carbohydrates first thing in the morning is better than eating them at night. This is because in the morning, the body is more insulin sensitive as opposed to at night. If you eat carbs at night, the body has no use for them and more often than not, will be turned into body fat.

Interval Training: Interval training is really important if you want to lose fat fast. Regular slow boring cardio will work, but it won't strike up your metabolism as much as interval training and you won't burn as many calories either. This is because of a phenomenon called EPOC or elevated post oxygen consumption. By elevating your oxygen debt within the body, your metabolism increases and must use calories to restore it back to homeostasis and it gets these calories from body fat.

Remember, you don't need fancy supplement to lose weight. Next time you see an ad, just laugh because you are now smarter than half the people reading the magazines.
