A calorie is not just a calorie. If this was the case, then if I ate nothing but popcorn all day, I would look like Hercules. I would most likely end up looking like Joba the Hut from Starwars. This is because a calorie is not just a calorie. Each macro nutrient has a different chemical makeup and is responsible for doing different things inside your body. Carbs, fats, and proteins are a lot different from each other and if you get these mixed up in your diet, and then you are sabotaging your results. If for some reason you are having a problem with losing weight, then take a look at your diet. If it contains a healthy amount of carbohydrates and not enough protein, then change this right away. I want you to flip the macronutrients around. You see, carbs release make the body release insulin. When insulin is released, fat burning comes to a screeching halt. Without carbs, the body will be forced to rely on its fat preserves, aka your body fat to break down and use for energy in order to keep homeostasis at base line levels. You want this going on as much as possible.
Also, you should be consuming a healthy amount of good fats because they have been found to decrease inflammation, diabetes, heart attacks, and aid in the decrease of body fat in some studies.
So remember, a calorie is not just a calorie. If you are not losing weight, take a look at your diet because the culprit is right there staring at you.
