4. Muscle splits: Working each muscle group per workout is not the best way to get in shape if time is an issue. You see, if you can only commit to a couple workouts per week you are far better off doing circuit training-like splits.

5. Supplements: Specifically, protein powders and meal replacements can retard weight loss. This happens because these liquid sources of nutrition aren't very filling. Thus, you are more likely to get hungrier when consuming these types of products.

6. Emotional black holes: Many people are aware that emotional black holes can alter how much food they eat. Yet few people actually spend time trying to get rid of these black holes. So make sure you have an action plan that helps you fix these mental blocks.
