Is it the Gym Weights or Your Mindset?
Are you lifting gym weights and following fitness routines but not seeing significant results
? Have you been attempting to achieve a bigger, better, leaner physique but currently been unsuccessful? Are you at a loss for distinct answers why? Is it because you aren't working the gym weights hard enough, not consuming the right foods, or just not consuming an adequate amount? Is it because you are not adopting the proper fitness routines? In truth it might be any or all of these factors.
Or could it be that you just do not yet have the right mindset?
To achieve success in any endeavour you must have the right mindset. You may have heard it all already but it bears repeating. To attain anything you have to know specifically what it is you are after? Do you in fact have clear physical goals for yourself? Because if you can't clearly picture yourself with your ultimate physique then you won't ever see it in the mirror. Once you have a clear picture of the body you want you need to then believe that you can attain it. It's not enough to simply believe it's probable for others , but achievable and probable for YOU.
So, spend the time to inquire of yourself exactly what it is you want? Identifying your goals in broad terms such as bigger, slimmer or more defined, won't help you in reaching them. Because if expressed in broad terms there is no ultimate desitation. If your objective is to be bigger you'll always be chasing bigger. Bigger than what? Bigger than who? How big is bigger?
On the other hand, if the goal is to weigh 86kg then when you reach 86kg you will recognize that you have reached your objective. So start by identifying the specific dimensions you want for your arms, legs etc. Or define the specific weight you would like to attain or the amount you want to be able to lift.
Now develop a sharp picture with your mind of how you are going to look and feel when you've achieved these dimensions. One factor that can greatly assist is finding a picture of the body you want. Place this photo somewhere you can and will view it on a day-to-day basis. Every occasion you glance at the photo, picture that the physique is yours. Think about how you will feel and act with your fresh physique. Now you will be able to judge your progress toward your target and you are going to know when you've achieved your goal.
When pursuing a goal you will likely face hurdles and need to alter course once in awhile. If your goal is well specified and your wish for it is strong, then you will be well equipped to maintain enthusiasm, conquer these challenges and get back on course. One technique to preserve a clear objective and strengthen your need is to monitor your progress. Take pictures and measurements before you begin your training program. If you've already started don't worry, simply take them now. At monthly intervals take new measurements and pictures and compare them to the intial set. It's not easy to recognise change if you observe yourself everyday. These monthly records will make your improvements more noticable.
So before you start lifting the gym weights again, aimlessly heading towards generally better, make sure you understand precisely why it is you are training and what it is you desire to achieve.
