I know how it is. You want to fit into a size 7 dress but the reality is you're a size 16. When did that happen? But here is the reunion coming up. You have to show the rest of them you haven't aged or gained weight. Well no one really needs to go to one of those things but you've convinced yourself that you never back down. Okay, if you're going to paint yourself in that corner then you better get ready. There's really nothing worse than dieting before an event but you don't have to sacrifice everything, including and especially, your health.

But what to do? The first thing you need to do is give yourself enough time to work on it. There's nothing more desperate than trying to to get 15 years of weight gain off in 2 weeks. It's not fair to your body or yourself. And believe in yourself. There's going to be other people there that are going to look worse than you.

You should stick to eating lean meats, vegetables, fruits and whole grains. Cut out the sugar. You know what I mean. Also knock off the processed food. If you're eating raw food as much as possible it'll help with your digestion. The more you can digest food properly the better your chances are that your food will be used for current fuel and not stored as fat.

And digestion really starts with chewing. This is a big suggestion that is very useful. Take a small bite of food and then chew it slowly. Take the time to enjoy and taste your food. It helps to make your meal time more pleasant and fools your body into believing it is eating more than it it is.

Also cut all sodas. Yes, that means diet too. Diet sodas are loaded with chemicals that are no good for you. Also, juice tends to fool you. You think it is healthy and will help you lose weight but in actual fact you're better off just eating the fruit.

If you are planning to go to the gym for rigorous exercise, my hats off to you. But some people, including myself, can't just radically change their schedule and their habits to conform with so much exercise all of a sudden. I think including it into your schedule gradually might be better for all concerned. Take the stairs when you can. Park your car father from work and then walk the rest of the way.
