In this day and age, excessive weight is a prominent factor in decreasing the quality of life of a vast number of people. Overweight people are constantly seeking ways to lose weight, and the sure thing concoctions, fitness centers and therapies abound. What most of them mainly do, is to increase the well-being of the provider, at the cost of the weight loss seeker. When someone, later in life, realizes that too much weight is a serious issue, steps have to be taken. There is no use to stop eating, or reducing too much. And it is impractical to work it off by strenuous, physical activity. One simply cannot jog continuously all day long. The thing to do, is to obtain knowledge of food, get to know what is nutritious and in what way, how it affects metabolism and the various functions of the body, what is wholesome and in what proportions and what to avoid at all costs.
All our habits have changed drastically in the last few decades. Access to nature is limited, we live indoors, to a great extent, eat fast food because of limited time and facilities and commute and contact each other mechanically and electronically. We sit.
Being forced to sit and prevented by circumstance to live like previous generations, we can still do something about body fat. Of course we all know we eat far too much sugar (carbohydrates). And its not done by the spoonful's like Mary Poppins pushed. Its in soft drinks, dairy products, cereal, its everywhere. It sells stuff. Then theres fat. And fish is less frequently on our plates. But fish oils you can get, take them as food supplements. Besides slimming you, they do wonders to your brain.
