Can I Get Liposuction Instead Of Dieting?

The size of one's waistband is a common concern to Americans

. It's no secret that Americans struggle with weight issues. America boasts an extremely high overweight and obesity rate. The modern lifestyle can't be said to help matters much. The modern way of life involves an awful lot of sitting and not much activity. Similarly, the hectic pace of life today isn't making it any easier to make the time to make good, healthy, nutritious food. For many people, fast food is replacing lower fat, more nutritious home cooked meals.

Changing one's life habits has always involved a lot of work, and that's something that isn't going to change. Although everyone knows that eating a healthier diet and increasing one's amount of exercise is a great way to lose weight and increase one's overall health, many people struggle to actually put these principles into action.

People who struggle to find the time or energy to exercise and diet often wonder if there could be an easier way to lose fat. Liposuction (also known as lipoplasty and suction lipectomy) is a popular alternative. The surgery is incredibly popular in America. For twelve out of the past thirteen years, the surgery has ranked as the number one most popular cosmetic surgery in the United States. Each year, hundreds of thousands of Americans undergo the surgery in surgical centers and offices from Beverly Hills to New York.

Lipoplasty is a surgery that permanently removes fat from a patient's body. It is typically performed under local anesthetic, and it usually takes between one and several hours to complete. During the surgery, a doctor makes one or several incisions into a target area which the patient and doctor have agreed on previously.

The doctor then inserts a special hollow needle called a cannula into the incision. The cannula is attached to a vacuum device, and as the doctor moves it back and forth, it breaks up and suctions out the unwanted fat.

But can this surgery replace healthy living? The answer, unfortunately, is no. Although the surgery can successfully remove excess fat, it cannot replicate the health benefits of a good diet and regular exercise. Also, unless a person knows how to live healthily, he or she risks gaining weight again after the liposuction.

Lipoplasty works best when combined with healthy living. It achieves its best results when it is used as only one part of a multi-faceted approach to weight loss.
