Having a strong brand identity is essential for any business who wants to increase their visibility in the marketplace

. One way to build a strong brand identity is through promotional products with the businesss logo on them. These can then be given to individuals at corporate events, at trade shows, whilst networking or as gifts to employees.

Building brand identity in this way is not only straightforward, although it does require a lot of planning, it is also a well know technique. With this in mind companys who produce promotional products should have an extensive product range in order to provide the best promotional products for their clients. This is due to the fact that products like these can be given away at any type of industry event or sent to clients.

Some years ago the types of promotional products that could be purchased were very limited. Most of the promotional products available were in the form of office supplies, stationary and so on. More often than not businesses had pens, note paper, coasters, mouse mats and calendars created with their logo on them. Whilst these items are useful in the workplace many people would find themselves inundated with several items which were all the same, but from different businesses after attend business events.

Obviously one of the most important parts of building brand identity is getting your brand recognised. This is hard to do if your business is one of 30 or more giving away free pens at a trade show. Instead it pays to be a little more diverse when it comes to deciding which type of promotional products to use. Pens and so on are still widely used, but these are now becoming more of a standard extra alongside some of the more interesting products that can be used for promotion.

Today businesses can choose from literally hundreds of different promotional products which can have their brand on them. These products include: CD wallets, laptop cases, umbrellas, shirts, trousers, aprons, glasses, bottle openers, luggage, hats, kitchen utensils and much more it is even possible to get underwear with a businesss log on them! In fact there is the scope to have a business logo on practically anything and companys who produce promotional products have realised this.

In order to stand out from the crowd it really does pay to choose products that are not the run of the mill business gift. Businesses who do this will stand a much better chance of their brand being recognised and therefore building a strong brand identity. Failure to get it right when it comes to products that will be given away to build brand identity and a business stands to lose money. This loss comes from not only the cost of the products it also comes from the loss of potential custom. So to build identity and get your brand recognised if you are a business owner you need to think outside the box when it comes to promotional products.
