Be Aware of the Warning Signals in Pregnancy
For some women, pregnancies are so uneventful that they wonder about reports of women
who complain of discomforts and ailments associated with pregnancy. Unfortunately, more and more women are experiencing difficult pregnancies that it is now a cause for concern in the medical world. So, one of the most important pregnancy tips is to be aware of what is going on in your body.
When going through a prenatal check up, the blood pressure and the weight of the mother is always monitored. There are increasing incidents of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia that could only be prevented by the careful monitoring of the blood pressure. One of the warning signals that may indicate pre-eclampsia is edema of the lower limbs, especially around the ankles. Then there is the tightness at the nape of the neck, and sometimes there is cramping before the due date. An increase in blood pressure during pregnancy can be controlled by anti-hypertensive drugs which the woman has to take according to dosage. However, there are times when these drugs may not be able to control the increase of the blood pressure. The only recourse that the doctor could take to save the lives of both mother and child is to remove the child, even if it is still premature. If the levels continue to increase and the child is not removed, then both could lose their battle and die.
Another warning signal to look out for is vaginal bleeding. Sometimes everything seems to be normal and all of a sudden, after urinating and wiping with a tissue, there is a streak of chocolate stain evident. Simply because it is so minimal, some women dismiss this as nothing. However, if you were a vigilant person, you would realize that this is not a normal occurrence. That chocolate stain is blood which passed through, either from the vagina or the urinary tract. Immediately consult with the doctor if this happens.
A third warning signal is cramping and lower back pains that can be ignored for it is too minimal a discomfort. This can mean something else totally which the doctor would need to know immediately. If the doctor sees there is a danger of a miscarriage, a prescription may have to be given to stop the cramping and an advice for bed rest and a cessation of strenuous activities like lovemaking.
Watch out for warning signals that may be a red light of danger to your pregnancy. Be aware of what is going on and prevent the unimaginable.
