A Belgian Waffle Maker Reviewed: The Chef's Choice M840B WafflePro Express Classic Belgian Waffle Maker
One of my favorite things in the world has to be Belgian waffles. I just love the flavor, the crisp outside and the soft inside. You can buy them ready made of course, but that is just not the same as having them freshly made at home. The solution to this? The Chef's Choice M840B WafflePro Express Classic Belgian Waffle Maker.
This device has a range of settings so that you can vary the color of your waffles from very light to very dark, and everything in between. It heats up very quickly so it is ready to go within a couple of minutes. However, some of this will depend on your mixture as you will need some sugar to ensure that caramelization takes place.
Unlike many other waffle makers, this had audible sounds to let you know where it is up to, so you do not have to stand over it watching indicator lights to tell you when it is ready and when to add more mixture.
This waffle maker does not make Belgian waffles quite as deep as you might expect in restaurants, but personally I think this is a good thing as the danger is that you may end up with a rather soft and soggy mess. However, these are nice and crispy on the outside which is just how I like them. All you need then is a nice dollop of ice-cream or some maple syrup drizzled on top and you have the perfect combination.
The Chef's Choice M840B WafflePro Express Classic Belgian Waffle Maker is easy to clean as well when you have finished, provided you have not put in too much mixture. If you do get carried away with the mixture you will find that it goes over the side and makes a sticky mess. For this reason it is worth investing in a portioning scoop - a #10 scoop is about right for this.
All in all I think that the Chef's Choice M840B WafflePro Express Classic Belgian Waffle Maker is great for waffle lovers everywhere and well worth investing in.
