7 Ingredients To Eliminate From Our Diets
An essential part of personal growth is becoming consciously aware of what we're
putting into our bodies, and how certain food ingredients can greatly inhibit our growth; intellect, energy, happiness, and attitude.
Here is a list of 7 ingredients, that I've found to be absolutely necessary to eliminate from our diets in order to reach higher levels of consciousness.
1. Soda Pop
If you drink soda pop, and you're seriously thinking about pursuing personal development and better health, this is the number one thing that needs to go. Everything else is secondary. Soda contains almost everything that will be on this list, it is by far the most destructive substance people put into their bodies daily.
Your body has no idea what to do when you drink soda, it has no use what-so-ever to your body except destruction. Sure it tastes good, but if you want to age faster, have weak bones, get sick year after year, and attain other countless health problems, then drink soda pop. I'll be more descriptive about its specific ingredients as we go on, because other products contain them as well.
2. High Fructose Corn Syrup
The number one ingredient besides water in soda pop. This is a very cheap sweetener derived from corn starch, used to sweeten most food items in a grocery store.
This is a HUGE reason for the obesity problem that's taking place mostly in the U.S. Once consumed, this substance goes straight to the liver, and is immediately turned into fat. And our poor livers take a real beating trying to break this stuff down.
Also, HFCS bypasses the pancreas, which produces insulin to make us feel full. So while all of this sugar is being turned into fat, it never makes us feel full. Sounds wonderful doesn't it?
If consumed on a regular basis, HFCS promotes conditions such as:
*Type 2 Diabetes
*High Blood Pressure
*Heart Disease
*Low Energy/Weakness
*Clouded Thinking
There are many alternative products that don't contain HFCS that taste way better. Because they contain real ingredients, not just the cheap artificial crap. You just have to be a little more selective when you go to the grocery store, and read the labels on everything. They're usually a little more expensive, but the taste and health benefits are WELL worth it. You wont be spending so much money at the doctor either.
3. Aspartame
A popular food additive to replace sugar as a calorie free sweetener. Found mainly in diet-soda, chewing gum, and anything else being advertised as sugar/fat free. It is very addictive, which is why people have such a hard time getting off of diet-coke. It's called "coke" for a reason.
The dangers of aspartame and its side effects are astronomical, but here's a short list. I highly recommend doing further research on this abomination.
*Memory Loss
*Alzheimer's disease
*Headaches/migraines
*Depression
*Sleep problems
Like I said, this is a very short list of what the long term side affects of aspartame are. DO NOT consume anything that contains aspartame, EVER! Especially if you're pregnant! If you want a sugar substitute, stevia is a good natural, healthy alternative.
4. White Refined Processed Foods
This includes white flour, rice, bread, and pasta. White flour has zero nutritional value compared to whole wheat flour. It acts exactly like sugar once entered the body, and the pancreas must create the fat storing insulin in order to digest it. Adding even more to the obesity and diabetes problem going on in the U.S.
White flour doesn't contain fiber like whole wheat flour does. As a result, it is very difficult to digest, and can cause bloating, constipation, and eventually colon cancer. In order to fight this, companies will use terms such as "enriched" on the label, in order to fool you into thinking there's actually nutritional value in white bread. But don't be fooled, the minimal amount of vitamins they put in is nothing compared to what whole wheat flour has.
White flour is also chemically bleached in order to get its nice white color, and to speed up the aging process. Yep, whenever you're eating a piece of white bread, you're also getting a nice helping of bleach with it. Yummy!
5. Hydrogenated Oil's
Another Dangerous food ingredient found in many common processed grocery store items, such as margarine. Hydrogenated fats, are not able to be broken down by the body. They add extra hydrogen pairs to a molecule, to preserve it longer, and make it softer, e.g. butter vs. margarine. This chemical structure, cannot be broken down by the body. As a result, it just gets built up inside your arteries, and tissue. Hydrogenated oil's are responsible for numerous health issues, including:
*Heart Disease
*Liver dysfunction
*Obesity
*Cancer
*Impairs the absorption of essential fatty-acids
And so much more, it really is unbelievable hydrogenated fats could ever be allowed into our food. But when you start to see the link between food corps, and pharmaceutical companies, it becomes very clear as to why the FDA looks the other way.
6. Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs)
A genetic engineer moves genes from one organism to another. The idea is to make an organism, for example corn, grow and produce in a specific way. Most corn today has been genetically modified to grow faster, grow more per square inch, and to be immune to certain chemicals, bacteria, virus' and pesticides.
One main reason for genetically modifying corn, is so farmers can feed it to cattle, in order to make them grow faster, and get fatter. The faster and fatter the cows get, the sooner they can be put into the slaughter house for profit. Cows are meant to eat grass, so a diet heavy in corn, causes many health problems in cows, such as bloating, extreme digestive problems, and weak immune systems.
Other common foods that are genetically engineered are:
*Tomatoes
*Soy
*Potatoes
*Canola
*Salmon
Are you beginning to see a pattern here? It's all about the dollar. The faster and cheaper they can produce, the more profit. The harm being done to humans, and animals, is of no concern to these corporations.
7. MSG
MSG, or mono-sodium glutamate, is a common food additive that's meant to enhance its flavor. It's extremely addictive and cheap. The perfect combo for any greedy food corporation.
MSG is found in many popular foods, which have been cleverly disguised on the ingredients list. This one will be more difficult to catch just by reading the ingredients label. They've found many ways to label MSG legally.
Most fast food, contains an alarming amount of MSG. PLEASE stay away from fast food establishments, they are beyond evil. I know their food tastes good, is cheap and convenient. But there's a reason why they can sell a hamburger for $1 and still make profit.
MSG has a huge list of side-effects, but just to name a few:
*Loss of memory
*Migraine Headaches
*Diabetes
*Cancer
*Obesity
Food corporations have gone through extraordinary measures, in order to have these ingredients allowed into our food. They want every single dollar they can squeeze out of us, and will do anything to get it. No matter what the side effects are, they don't care about our health, just dollars.
Also, the more we're sick, the more money pharmaceutical companies make. It's a win/win situation for everyone, except of course...us! If we were aware and healthy, most of these large corporations would go bankrupt, and disappear. In reality, we hold all the power, but for some reason we give it all away freely, and enjoy it at the same time. It shows how conditioned humans have become, but it can change! Say NO, to anything that has these ingredients in them! I know they're addicting, they're supposed to be! But I promise you WILL see profound improvements in your life once you stop consuming these.
Shop at health food stores, they normally don't allow these ingredients in their products. Buy local, organically grown food, plant a garden, and get used to reading the ingredients label on everything you buy. Even in health food stores. You deserve to know what you're putting into your body, and you have the power to improve your life.
I encourage you to do further research on these ingredients, so you can really get the idea of how important this is. To you, and your families health.
