Protein from natural, or organic sources is good, along with whole grains; avoid breads and pastas made from processed white flour and other unhealthy carbs. The third rule, also simple and well known, is that you need exercise to reduce your weight. Unless you have a very fast metabolism (in which case you probably wouldn't need to lose weight in the first place), you need physical activity to lose weight. The trick is to find a workout routine that's fun for you, or one you at least find tolerable, and be consistent with it. It doesn't have to be extreme, but try to get at least thirty minutes of aerobic exercise four times per week and two to three resistance/strength training sessions per week.
