Gestational diabetes can arise during the second or third trimesters, and can cause complications for the mother as well as the unborn child. Researchers in United Kingdom Bristol University have used instruments to measure the bone shape, density and body fat of more than 4,000 teen-agers at the age of 15. The results showed that the bones of respondents with higher levels of body fat are stronger. This relation between bones and body fat is obvious for girl, if the body fat in girls' body increase 5 kg, the thickness of the small bone will be increased by 8%. The researchers said that at the same weight, girls' body fat is usually higher than the boys and body fat is also more important for girl at skeletal development.
