Being a young entrepreneur, I can tell you I have not done things the easy way. I wish there was a group like the Bookkeeping Success Circle that I could have referenced when I was struggling with some of my growth issues. When I first started out I was charging $35.00 an hour for bookkeeping services. I thought when it came to pricing my services I should just use the same rate my competitors were using. I really did not put any thought into my rate per hour until I was tired of not making any real money. I found I was giving away free advice, services, working all the time and my rate per hour did not support what I wanted to make in a year. I was hungry and did anything to get the business in the door. That came with a price. I found I was not attracting the type of client I wanted to have. I would rush in to fix the problem, but would find myself in the heat of their drama.
