"God Created Man, Why Aren't Atheists Willing to Debate Me on This

?" The Hard Headed Man Said

They say they are doing God's work and they are trying to help individual sinners come to God to save their soul. I find this whole challenge in their lives utterly ridiculous. And let me explain why.

First, let me say that I have no problem if someone wants to believe in an invisible friend, live their life for someone else or some religious group, or go to a church to reinforce the need for them to remain ethical. In fact, if they lack the moral character needed to function in society, they may as well go to church to remind themselves each week to be good rather than taking my tax dollar sitting in jail, for the unethical deeds that they might otherwise do.

Now then, with that said not long ago I was talking to a fanatical religious gentleman who didn't realize that I was non-human-superstitionist and he said to me "God Created Man, Why Aren't Atheists Willing to Debate Me On This?" So, I explained that an atheist believes what they believe and a Christian believes what they believe and neither of them is going to convince the other of anything, it is a moot point to engage in such dialogue.

Nevertheless, the Christian fellow realized that I was not one with his religious persuasion, and started to debate with me, something I really didn't feel like getting into, you see I've never really believed in Santa Claus, and I don't need invisible friends. Unfortunately, he seemed to need to believe, and it was very much a part of his belief system and his sense of self. Who am I to deny him of this fantasy, if it helps him psychologically live his life?

So I explained to him "Like I said on this topic, I am sure you can find someone in your neighborhood, I am onto other things." Besides, I am more intrigued with creating artificial life, or modifying life, or improving on life, or saving life, making robotic AI project, or removing life (creating defensive weapon systems to protect my country) than I am with fundamentalism and religious or superstitious nonsense and hypothesis.

The reason that atheists are not willing to debate or discuss this with a firm Christian believer should be obvious, the religious folks are unwilling to listen to reality, review the research, or ask for evidence that suggests that their religious stories are true and correct. Talking to a religious fanatic, is much like talking to a wall, at some point you get tired of talking to yourself. Please consider all this.
