What they do is slow your metabolism down by starving you and creating an unbalance in your hormones.

Most of what you see today are diet plans that will cause ping-pong weight loss. You may lose weight for a period of time, but then eventually your system will catch up with you. When this happens it is even harder to lose weight because now you have a new problem, a hormonal problem. After starving yourself of nutrients your body will go into starvation mode. This is due to your hormones telling your body to store fat.

What a good diet plan will instruct you is to never starve your body of nutrients and actually maybe even eat more. When I say eat more, I mean eat more of the right foods. You must eat real food, this is going to cause your metabolism to speed things up, like burning fat. When you eat real foods like steak don't eat any processed foods. These processed foods are going to take all of your metabolisms precious energy from breaking down that fat. You see now how it will slow your metabolism down? You want to devote as much of your metabolisms energy to burning fat as you can.

Another thing is you need to eat more often in the day than just three meals. When you don't eat for extended periods of time your metabolism will shut down. It does this because its service isn't really required so it stops. When this happens there is not going to be any fat consuming taking place at all from your body but other than the fat that's all ready to be used for energy. Leaving all the fat in your regional areas untouched. When you eat more meals throughout the day it will cause your metabolism to function all day long. Burning whatever fat it needs also, because now your hormones are telling it to. Your hormones have probably the second greatest impact if not the first on how much and how fast you will lose weight. When your hormones are in proper balance your weight will not only leave they will stay gone. There is allot you can tell about someones hormones just by looking at their body, they are that closely related.

So when you want to lose weight the healthy way you don't need to necessarily go out and buy a diet plan, but I know for some it may help them stay determined and focused. Remember, if the diet calls for you to starve yourself, especially from nutrients I would strongly reconsider. By eating the right foods and in the right pattern you WILL lose weight.
