You will not be able to sustain the speed for a consistent 30mins or it just means that the resistance level is too easy for you to do so which is certainly not challenging enough for you. In order to blast more calories, you should increase resistance level rather than increasing your speed. Increased resistance would require more effort which means more calories will be incinerated. It is important to note that while on any type of the bike, you need to ensure you adjust the seats for a right fit to feel comfortable. If the seat got you wriggling, you may need to get a seat cover or padded cycling shorts.

3. Stair climber

You may have seen users leaning heavily and clinging on for dear life while struggling to complete their workout. Trying to go faster by leaning on the machine will not burn as much calories as compared to keeping your body upright. You should touch the handles lightly to keep yourself balanced on the machine so that your legs get to fully workout and expend more calories. To up the ante, do not touch the handles for support at all, if that is too difficult, try to alternate between holding the handles for support for a few minutes and then not having support again.

4. Elliptical Trainer

It is always more effective to increase the resistance level of your machine to challenge yourself than just increasing the speed. Going faster does help push yourself initially but once you sacrifice your form to go faster, you are unable to work harder and end up burning less calories than you should. Increasing the resistance works better and the different types of settings allow you to challenge and engage different muscles for an effective overall workout.
