Microbes are ubiquitous in their distribution. Microbes are present in hot spring, freezing ice, desert, rain forest, marine ecosystem. Microbes do live in our food, in animals, plants and in humans. Microbes cause disease, provide medicine to the disease, enrich our food and also spoil them. Destroy our goods and decompose the waste. All these information are available even in any preliminary book on microbes.
When man started destroying the ecosystem, many life forms paid their life as price and become extinct. Many are in the brink of extinction due to man's dominance on this ecosystem. But could he help himself? Could he continue to dominate the planet and supersede all the life forms in the planet?
The tirade of man was to control, to conquer and to rule the planet. What ever he could see with his naked eyes, easily surrendered to his intelligence. Unfortunately man did not realize that the invisible giants have already started an incessant war against him. In his blood thirsty destruction of the beautiful planet, another destroyer was emerging to him.
Only when the destroyer is visible to him, man can raise his weapon to fight, but nature has decided that let the destroyer of the prime destroyer be an invisible microbe, said Dr.Gokulshankar, teaching faculty of medicine, AIMST University, Malaysia.

Today man is the growing ecosystem for wide range of microbes. Microbes are invading man, encircling him and chewing his quality of life. Since microbes are invisible to his naked eye, man has less option than blaming and yelling about super bugs, drug resistant pathogens and emerging microbial diseases said Dr.S Ranganathan, Director of ClinRise Derma Pvt., Ltd., Chennai during the meeting on "Man the best ecosystem to microbes" held in chennai.
Dr Gokulshankar and Dr.Ranjith have done extensive research work on the evolution of virulence in microbes and microbial pathogens.
