What To Give As A Wedding Gift
Let us celebrate the occasion with wine and sweet words.
-Plautus
One big question when attending a wedding is ''what do I get as a wedding gift?'' Now one of the most important factors when deciding this is, how close you are to the couple that's exchanging the rings. If they are friends of friends or perhaps a second cousin twice removed you barely see even in the holiday times then sticking to the sacred register list may be the best bet. However if the person getting married is an important figure in your life, a person you share happy memories and true moments with, maybe a close friend or the one person in your family who doesn't drive you totally nuts. If this is the case then perhaps when deciding what to get them as a gift it might help to remember the reason you are giving them something special in the first place.
Although weddings can seem like the norm as from the moment we are born we are given a list of activities to pass through for a successful life, school-check, university-check, job-check, marriage-check. There is something very magical when watching two people who are in love, stand up in front of their friends and families to declare their love and commitment to one another. As Thomas Moore said ''There is nothing half so sweet in life. As love's young dream.'' It is this reason we attend and celebrate a couples union, for all else in life, love is still a magical mysterious force that when looked upon can melt even the most cynical of hearts. So when gifting for this type of occasion, celebrating a close friend finding true love I refer to my quote above ''Let us celebrate the occasion with wine and sweet words''-Plautus. Simply being present at the wedding prepared to have a fabulous time is the first part and perhaps then the second part is a reminder to slow down the clocks, forget about the price tag and give something to show our true feelings and blessings of the day. For It is with true love as it is with ghosts; everyone talks about it, but few have seen it Franois de la Rochefoucauld and that is something to treasure!
A Gift created by Simply Glimpse for a very Special Wedding (Given with a figure of an angel) http://www.giftsandspeeches.com/
My Gift To You
The excitement is sweeping, affecting all in its reach,
From the vows, to the cake, to the best man's speech.
However lost it is not, the meaning of today,
Touching more than you know, spreading far and away.
To an angel who's sitting, high up above,
Witnessing a moment, belonging solely to love.
The church bells cry out, the music it sings,
A couple so perfect, exchanging the rings.
A promise is made, in a moment its clear,
Cushioned by trust there is nothing to fear.
Completing each other two halves of a whole,
Best friends for life two bodies one soul.
The angels still watching he's my gift to you,
Protecting your love a love thats so true.
