What Are Wedding Favor Etiquette?
It has been always a tradition to give your guests wedding favor as a token of appreciation
for sharing their valuable time with you and spending their money for your gifts. These guests attend your wedding to show their support and celebrate with you during this momentous occasion.
Keep in mind that wedding favor is not only a gift. It is your way of conveying your gratitude to all those people who joined with you and witness the day you became husband and wife. Giving of such tokens might be simple but there is etiquette to be observed and followed.
Below are the guidelines that you must observed when you give wedding favor to your guests:
1.Count how many guests are coming including your family and bridal party. Base on this figures, prepare the favor accordingly. Each of your guests must receive a token. You can give out different wedding favor that goes with the gender and something different for the children. However if you are in a tight budget, you can just give one favor for each couple. If possible, prepare at least extra items just in case some are damaged.
2.The wedding favor should be parallel to your wedding theme. If you are planning on having a Christmas wedding, then give your guests an item that matches the theme such as snow globes, or small Christmas trees, or engraved Christmas balls.
3.Place a small thank you note to show your gratitude and appreciation to your guests, family, and the bridal party. Add the names of the couple and their wedding date.
4.When choosing a wedding favor, select the ones that will last a lifetime. This item will serve as a souvenir of the momentous event the couple has celebrated so it must be something that your guests are willing to keep and add them to their collection or display it on their shelves. A figurine has a tendency to last a lifetime if it doesnt break.
5.Put all your wedding favor in a place where it is accessible to the guests. If possible assign someone to give out these items. There are some guests who just take favor as many as they want especially if they are not supervised. It will end up that there will be some guests who will receive nothing. So it is important that you will assign a person who will monitor this task.
