For years I was on and off various diets. Did I lose weight? Sure. Did I gain the weight back? Sure, and some.

But finally, in the spring of 2008 everything just clicked. Like I had finally found out how to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. I guess that years of dieting made me kind of an expert in weight loss. Now I know I'm no guru nor am I a personal trainer. I'm just regular guy, but I've been there, overweight and unhappy. But more importantly, I found a way out. I want to share with you one of the pieces of my weight loss puzzle that was a tremendous help to me.

Weight Loss Puzzle Piece- Striving To Get Good Grades!

I know it sounds funny comparing food with grades but it's one of the best methods I've learned to understand what is good for your body and what is not. So if you really want to succeed with your weight loss then you need to get more A's.

But what do I mean by that? Well, we can put different kind of food into different grades. A grade food is the absolute best for you and will help you the most with weight loss. Then comes B grade food, it's good for you, just not as good as A. Then comes C grade, then D, you see where I'm going with this? But how to know what is what?

There is a simple rule to this. A grade foods are untouched foods. B grade foods have been touch a little.. C has something added to it, D is even more processed. Here's a simple explanation: An orange is A grade, if we turn that into fresh 100% orange juice it becomes B grade. If we then add preservatives and put it in a box it becomes C grade, add some sugar and other bad stuff it becomes D grade (or even worse). Got it.. the more processed the worse it is for your body.

It's really that simple. Did I come up with this system? No, I didn't. I found this is in a very helpful book I read two years ago. It's called "The A-Food, B-Food Lecture - How To Get Good Grades On Your Food Choices". If memory serves me right it came in a bundle with the book "Burn the fat, feed the muscle". Anyway, good luck with your weight loss and remember, always try to get good grades!
