Cut out all drinks but water. Believe it or not, one of the easiest ways to drastically reduce your caloric intake is to replace your juice drinks, your sodas, your energy drinks, your alcoholic beverages, etc with water. Cold water is good. Water has no calories. It helps keep you hydrated and is important for your overall health. Even if you cut out just two servings of soda pop a day you will be cutting out at least a couple hundred calories (depending on what kind of soda you are drinking). In addition to lowering the amount of calories you take in, drinking water instead of those other beverages cuts down on the amount of sugar, high fructose corn syrup and other chemicals that your body would normally take in. Don't forget that you need to workout regularly if you want your diet to be successful. You could cut yourself down to just a few hundred calories a day (not something we recommend by the way) but if you do not exercise regularly you will not lose any weight. Even something as easy as a short walk every day can help your weight loss be more successful. Exercise increases muscle tone, energy level and focus on the overall weight loss goals you have.

The key to losing weight is balance. There are plenty of fad diets that tell you to cut out entire categories of foods. Most of these diets have a no-carbohydrates clause which is not good. The fact is that you need carbohydrates to have energy. The trick is simply to practice some moderation when you eat carbohydrates. Steer clear of diets that try to convince you that the key to weight loss is cutting out whole areas of your food intake. You need to eat a nutritious and balanced diet to stay healthy. Anything that tells you anything else is a fake.
