Weddings - What You Don't Know
We always hear about "happily ever after" or the dream wedding
,we watch them on TV, where nothing goes wrong, the bride looks perfect and everyone has a great time. The behind-the-scenes goings-on at most weddings are not discussed in the open too often, although some reality shows have brought light into the subject. What you won't hear about is that there will always be variables you cannot account for, and even with the "perfect" plan, these may very well be the reason for a ruined wedding.
As the bridal couple, you need to understand that things will go wrong no matter how well you have planned your wedding. The good news is that most of your guests won't know that some things may have gone wrong because they didn't know what your plans were in the first place.
The chapel could be overlooked when the florist places the flowers. Your best friend's date will get drunk and misbehave. The dogs will feast on the wedding cake because your mom forgot to close the door in the room where you were storing the cake. Your train will have a hole in it because you put the chair on it when you sat down for a while before walking down the aisle. The menu will have been changed by the caterer at the last minute due to some lacking ingredients. Your pesky nephew will ruin every photo take by trying to jump in every single one or the bartender will have forgotten to stock up on your boss's favorite drink. Unforeseen weather condition have stifled outdoor wedding plans, ministers have come in late, wedding cakes have been knocked over before the reception has even begun. There have been couples who were mistakenly booked for the smallest hotel room instead of the honeymoon suite because it was already occupied by another couple.
The bridal party, and in particular, the bride and her mother, could let this type of incident ruin an otherwise perfect occasion. Stressing over details that are no longer under your control is not constructive, just smile, relax, take a deep breath and move on to the next thing. Don't let one incident ruin months of planning, or affect the rest of your day or night.
There will be some things that can and will happen, even if no one openly talks about it. They also don't tell you that at each of these weddings, the couple did manage to get married despite all the problems. Most of the guests, in fact anyone not involved in the planning, will barely notice most of these problems, and no one will think any less of you for not planning for such circumstances. "What a lovely wedding" is what most of your guests would actually be thinking, after partaking of that wonderful meal and having a good time. You should also try to do exactly just that.
