When you are with your guy or girl or are apart, do you get this terrible knot in the pit of your stomach that something is not quite right? Well sadly enough, just about everyone will end up in a relationship with someone who isn't exactly an "Honest Able" or "Honest Abeline" at some point in their lives.
With that said, it is important to pay attention to your partner's moods and behavior. If you notice things about them changing, particularly altering things they could have cared less about before, watch out. They are very possibly warning signs of a cheater.
While there are many warning signs of a cheater to look out for, below are just a short list of 12 common things to look for. If a few or more of these are occurring, you need to take the next step and start doing further surveillance of some kind to catch your roaming lover.
A newfound or increased interest in their appearance. This can mean they're trying
to impress someone. Look for things like a new interest in working out or buying new
underwear.
2. A change in schedule or routine. A cheater will start spending more time away from home and often claim they are working late or hanging out with friends.
3. They're suffering from mention-itis'. Even if they're not actually saying anything incriminating, the constant mention of another person is common in the initial stages of infatuation and many cheaters can't help themselves sometimes. If you've been hearing talk of someone no matter how innocent it may seem, this may well be the person your spouse is cheating with or planning to cheat with.
4. Changes in phone habits. For instance needing to take calls privately all of a sudden or being protective of their cell phone when they used to leave it out.
5. Changes in sleep patterns or energy levels. Guilt may be to blame for your partner's troubled sleep along with anxiety which is common when someone is living a lie and fears getting caught. If your spouse is unusually tired these days it can also be due to the amount of extramarital activity going on alongside of their everyday life with you and your family. More sex can also be the culprit.
6. Spending more time on the internet. This could indicate anything from an online affair to looking for dates to chatting with the person they are involved with.
7. Covering their tracks. By this I mean things like erasing calls off the call display or their cell phone. Deleting emails, text messages and clearing the history on the computer is also a red flag.
8. A lack of sex. If your spouse has lost interest in having sex with you this can indicate that they are getting their needs met elsewhere or could even be a warning that they are no longer attracted to you.
9. An increase in the frequency or quality of sex. Some cheaters will have more sex with their partner or try to overcompensate in bed out of guilt. Other cheaters are on such a high from the cheating and sex with someone new that they're in a constant state of arousal. This sadly means that they are thinking of the other person while having sex with you.
10. They seem edgy or uncomfortable. Lying is exhausting and can take a toll along with the guilt and the fear of getting caught. This will almost always spill over into their demeanor and the way they behave around you.
11. Insistent on having more privacy than before. This can mean being more protective of their space, car, finances and even laundry. If your partner all of a sudden insists on doing his own laundry he may be trying to hide evidence. This also goes for his car, office, computer, credit card statements, etc.
12. Car seats have been adjusted or moved. If you and your spouse are the only ones using the car then you know the typical placement of the seats. A change in that indicates that someone else has been in the car. Be especially aware of changes in the backseat as cheaters often use a car as a place to cheat.
And there you have a sample of warning signs of a cheater. The biggest mistakes cheaters make is that they underestimate the intelligence of their partner and will slowly start to blow their cover more and more.
If you find yourself in this situation, stay calm and don't be so quick to confront your partner until you have some solid proof against him or her. They will get defensive and strengthen their resolve to cover their tracks better. In addition, unless you are absolutely sure that you will leave if you find your spouse or partner cheating, it may be best to not go snooping around in the first place. It will only lower your self esteem and make you grow resentful of the other party as time passes.
Sometimes ignorance is bliss if you are not strong enough to handle the truth.
