Keep things away from where you usually have them so you have to walk to them. Anything that causes you to walk or bend to pick up things will help to get more exercise. In your diet eat more fruits and vegetables and less starch and fat products.

A high fiber and protein diet and drink less sodas will help a great deal. A very good habit to start is watch your portions. If you fill your plate and then take half off you will notice a big difference. When you get so that is satisfying you do it again. If you are a big eater it will help you make a big difference.

Consistency is the key to raising your metabolism. You do not have to go through an intense workout every single day, but you should try to always do something physically active for at least 10-15 minutes. This can be as easy as walking the dog around the block in the morning or taking the stairs instead of the elevator all day at work.

Remember get a good plan and put the advantage in your corner if you really want to loose weight. Keep track of your average steps for a few days of your normal daily schedule, then set a goal of gradually increasing this number each day. It is much easier to make yourself walk to the store instead of driving if you can see that you need another 1,000 steps for the day
