I have been rushed off my feet since morning and I am nowhere near finished. Its thanksgiving today and I am cooking for the family. This year I have to cook double as there is few new additions to the family.
My son will bring his new his girlfriend who have been seeing each other for few weeks, my daughter will come with her new baby girl as well as her husband and son, my mum will come on her own same as last year and the most recent and shocking addition to the family is my dad's girlfriend of just two days.
I am working really hard to make this thanksgiving better than last year but I'm a little worried about my mum and how she will react when she finds out about new girlfriend. My dad called me this morning to give me the good news and he also dumped me with the responsibility to tell mum.
I rang my mum early this morning and told her to come early that way I can tell her about dad before everyone arrives in the evening, but then she called me an hour later to say she will be late because she is coming by train.
I was confused as to why she would come by train when she just bought a brand new car last week, so I rang back to ask and her reply was I don't want to drive my brand new Audi to Blackburn on the motorway, what if I get a chip on the windscreen?'
By the time mum came to my house, everyone had already arrived. So not only did mum find out about dads new girlfriend but she also got to meet her and it went better than I thought.
