TREE Seminars Set to Influence Global Decision-Makers on the Benefits of Renewable Energy

The Renewables Academy's aim to train and educate governmental ministers

, lawyers, engineers, and private investors across the world in the economic, legal, and developmental aspects of renewable energy has found an effective means of expression via the TREE programme.

The TREE (transfer renewable energy & efficiency) project is driven by three main objectives:

To set up necessary legal environment through regulations

To enable investments in renewable energy projects and efficiency measures

To accelerate the implementation of green energy projects

These aims permeate the series of seminars which take place in Berlin, as well as in various other countries around the globe such as Mexico, Malaysia, and South Africa, and are targeted towards the decision making figures of both the public and private sectors of each nation represented at the events, including government ministers, financial providers, and project developers.

The TREE programme is supported by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), a body dedicated to the international cooperation in the field of climate change and other environmental issues. The endorsement of such an authoritative figure in this area boosts the reach and influence of the TREE initiative, providing additional credibility and financial clout.

The very existence of the RENAC initiative, let alone its continued success over the past two years, highlights the climactic and cultural shift taking place. The growing requirement for feasible solutions to the current issues of energy consumption and environmental sustainability has resulted in the assemblage of organisations such as the Renewables Academy.

However, it is not only through large-scale, governmental or big-business initiatives that the global community may hope to address the changing climactic environment. Although such powerful and far-reaching companies and institutions must be the true driving force behind any significant remedial action, it is also essential for individuals to get involved, and shoulder a piece of the global responsibility.

By engaging in a manner of individual energy saving practices, we are able to play our part in the overall international contribution. From energy saving bulbs to small wind turbines, the list of domestic modifications to be made is extensive, with options to suit all financial and physical capabilities.

With the cooperative contribution of both individual or domestic efforts combined with those of large-scale, purpose-built organisations with the capacity to invest and develop significant renewable energy projects, the goal of optimum energy efficiency may not be as distant as some may believe.
