. The THIN CHOICES weight loss program helps you lose weight without counting calories. You learn to suppress your appetite and stop hunger pangs once you re-learn how to fuel, move and rest your body.

Jill Fleming, MS, RD is sharing her THIN CHOICES program via 8 videos to help Americans get started losing weight. Week number one includes adding 3 simple goals. #1 is to eat a total of 5 servings of fruit or vegetables daily. These are 1/2 cup servings. The fruit and vegetables are full of fiber, water, vitamins and minerals to actually nourish your body. You will find that sugar cravings stop almost instantly once you start eating more fruit. Your body truly does crave what you feed it.

Goal #2 is to drink more water. You need to drink enough water, as your body needs water to break down fat cells and use them for energy. If you are slightly dehydrated, as many of us are, your body will need to conserve the water and your fat is not going anywhere! How much water do you need to drink? You should aim to drink 1/2 of your body weight in ounces daily. If you weigh 200 pounds, you should drink 100 ounces of water daily.

How do you know if you are drinking enough water? Your urine will be pale yellow, non-cloudy with the absence of odor mid-day. If your urine has an odor or is cloudy, you need to drink more water. Using a straw helps you drink your water faster. Never drink soda out of a straw, as soda intake need to be limited. Drink soda, even diet does not count as your water intake.

Goal #3 is to write down everything you eat or drink. You do not need to count calories. Just writing down your food and beverage intake instantly makes you more accountable for your choices. You can use a notebook or a lifestyle diary to record your daily choices.

The final thing you need to do to get started with weight loss is to weigh yourself at least weekly. Do not be afraid of your number on the scale. Your weight is simply your body's pull against gravity and no one is aware of this number. Weigh yourself every Friday morning. This will be the most accurate time to weigh. Monday morning weights are often highly variable because of weekend indulgences and excess salt intake.

Losing weight permanently is not about dieting or willpower. It is about the daily choices you make. Adding more fruit, vegetables and water to your diet is easy and will instantly improve your entire diet. You will notice your clothes starting to fit better, your energy level beginning to increase and your skin looking clearer.
