The Kings, Queens, Dukes, Duchesses, Lords and Ladies invited peers for their social activities with written announcements on cards. These cards were all hand written by someone like wife, butler, or the secretary. The wealthy of the day employed a very expensive paper with a prestigious individual doing the writing. The invites included the same wording that we use today with everything spelled out. When selecting your wedding stationery keep in mind everything involved and choose wisely based on resources and style of wedding ceremony.
