Raising The Performance Bar Hyundai Genesis Coupe!
The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is a new sports car from the Korean automobile giant Hyundai
and comes with a promise of elegant style, outstanding performance and comfort when compared to its contemporaries.
The Coupe is ready to set trends for Hyundai's quality standards in the world automobile market. Initially available in six different models, which are the 2.0T, 2.0T Premium, 2.0T Track, 3.8, 3.8 Grand Touring, and 3.8 Track, depending on the engine types and capacities. Often called the "handsome and sporty" car of 2010, Hyundai Genesis is undoubtedly one of the best looking cars available from Hyundai.
Styling
The Genesis Coupe is simplistic in the interior, and this helps maintain driver's focus where it should be - on the road. Though the interior does offer a cockpit-like feel, unconventional placement of power window and mirror switches indeed needs adjustment. Externally, Genesis is eye-candy, though interiors need a little more work.
Performance
Hyundai Genesis is all set to compete with the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and the like. The 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is equipped with a line-up of powerful engines that boast of creating 210 horsepower with its 2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged aluminium engine with Genesis 3.8 creating 306 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque.
The Coupe is mainly available either as a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission model with paddle shifting. Location of the manual's shifter is, however, too far towards the rear of the body. Overall, shifting gears in a manual is pleasurable while in an automatic it is a delight.
Features
The Hyundai Coupe comes across as a fairly economical car, packed with more than the necessary features even in the most basic models, and is just right for its price. The basic features of the Coupe include: six-speed manual, cruise control, power locks, windows stability control, and a trip computer with stereo auxiliary jacks. All models are fitted with an AM/FM/CD/MPS stereo with six speakers. The Hyundai Genesis 2010 Coupe 2.0T Premium, however, contains a power driver seat, a keyless ignition system, an Infinity audio system, a sunroof along with auto-dimming rear-view mirror.
The Genesis Coupe 2.0 T also adds the performance equipment and includes xenon headlights, along with a pair of fog lamps. The Coupe 3.8 Grand Touring has rear parking sensors, xenon headlights, fog lights, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, a sunroof, heated front seats and an Infinity audio system fitted within.
According to The Detroit News, "Hyundai also includes lots of premium options." And, these features are all inexpensive with most of them already available on the higher-end models. Upgrading your Coupe with any option packages automatically upgrades the speaker to the 360-watt, ten-speaker Infinity system.
Not many cars today have so much on offer for this price. It sure is a promise of elegance and comfort bundled in a racing car.
