What is Roostering? And why are men doing it with Testosterone Gel for full erections?

Many men are finding testosterone gel (T-gel) to be a more effective and satisfying medication to treat male health issues, including erectile difficulty.

In fact, in the long term, the proper use of T-gel (such as AndroGel) is being heralded as the real Fountain of Youth.

As those who have read my other articles on Men's Health know, I have always suggested that you have a full medical if you are suffering from erectile difficulty or decreased libido. Do not self-diagnose or self-medicate.

If medical tests reveal a low testosterone level, then your doctor will prescribe a testosterone replacement. This can be given by pills, injection, gel or cream. Of these methods, guys seem to prefer the self administered gel (for one thing, if a guy is expecting a hot night, he can start off the day with an extra squirt of T-gel). The gel is usually obtained from a Multi-Dose Pump.

T-gel (testosterone gel) is a hydroalcoholic formulation that dries quickly when applied to the skin surface.

The directions are clear and must be followed for optimal effect:

1. Apply T-gel only to areas that will be covered by a short sleeved t-shirt. These areas are your shoulders and upper arms, or your abdomen - stomach area.

2. Do not apply T-gel to your penis or scrotum.

3. Rub the gel into your skin with circular motions until it begins to dry.

4. Wash your hands with soap and water right after you apply T-gel.

5. Let the application areas dry for a few minutes before putting on a shirt.

6. To prevent transfer of testosterone gel to others, clothes (such as a t-shirt) should always be worn to cover the T-gel application areas until you have washed the application areas well with soap and water.

Sounds simple. But some men want to speed up the process. They want the full erections and more intense orgasms that come with the proper use of testosterone gel. Take William H, who told me, "I disregarded the instruction about applying my AndroGel to my genitals. I coated my penis and testicles. Man, did I ever have a scary reaction. In just a few minutes, my testicles shrank to the size and hardness of a walnut. And my penis practically shrank to nothing. I ran to the shower and washed the gel off! Everything recovered after a while - but I'll never do that again."

And yet some men are still seeking that Perfect Full Erection. It was Stan B who told me about roostering. "I heard about roostering from a guy who is into body building. He used to use steroids but switched to T-gel. What roostering is, is the very careful application of T-gel to your penis. You have to be very careful not to get any on your testicles or penis head. If possible, you work up a partial erection. You apply one full pump actuation of the gel to your fingers and apply it to the shaft of your penis, rubbing it on until it dries. As a precaution, you wrap your penis in tissue for a while to avoid any gel on your testicles. Of course, before you make any contact with your woman, you thoroughly shower or wash."

Some guys are making great claims for roostering. But remember: it's not recommended by T-gel makers - or doctors!

About testosterone Androstenol and Androsterone:

Endogenous androgens, including testosterone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT), are responsible for the normal growth and development of the male sex organs and for maintenance of secondary sex characteristics.
