More Tips On Choosing A Wedding Videographer
If you choose a good wedding videographer, chances are high that you will get the
wedding video you want which is the one that you will cherish as a reminder of that special occasion for years to come. There are numerous factors you have to consider when picking a wedding videographer, such as the portfolio quality, communication skills, style, and rates charged. You will also need information on the equipment the videographer uses, how he or she edits videos, and other technical aspects.
Cameras and Other Equipment
Although it is not always necessary, you may want to know the types of cameras and peripheral equipment your potential videographer uses, especially if you are familiar with these tools. If the professional uses equipment that seems a bit outdated or average, it may not be a disadvantage. After all, a high-end camera in amateur hands is not a guarantee of a better end-product compared to an average camera used by an experienced wedding videographer.
You may also want to work with a pro that uses more than one camera for the entire video, preferably with the help of a few aides. One camera may not be able to capture everything you want filmed, and more than one of these will help the videographer get better images and lower the chances of missing an important moment. It may be even better if your videographer has a third camera in one place, set for a panoramic or wide shot, as this gives him or her more options for images to include in the final wedding video.
Video Editing
Post-production and editing is important, as expert editing can turn good raw footage into an excellent wedding video. You may need to ask about these before you finally hire a videographer:
* Length of the final version of the wedding video
* Availability of a full version of the video and a shorter video focusing on event highlights
* Inclusion of titles, captions, subtitles, and other text
* Types of music to be added to the final cut
* Format of the raw footage and final video
Videography on a Budget
If you are on a budget, and the only thing keeping you from hiring a videographer is his or her rates, you may ask for the event to be shot or covered, and receive raw or unedited footage. While anything other than the final version of the video may be awkward to watch, you will at least be able to have video coverage (and have the actual editing done by the wedding videographer at another time when you have the cash).
