Our world is ever evolving and changing. What we have followed and believed 15 years ago may not be even applicable today. The modern dating scene have changed, though it still has hints of the classics, but on a totally different level now. Dating advice then may not be practical now. 1. Waiting three days to make a call. In the old days when you get to meet your date the first time around; said girl will then give the boy her phone number then wait for at least three days to get a call. Then, it makes a guy look cool and exotic with a hint of mysteriousness. But gone are the days where you have to wait three days to receive that call. In these days where most of us carry mobile phones and smart phones, waiting three days is agonizing. In these days where people want instant connection: email, chat, text and IM; not calling makes you look like a wuss or someone who can't afford credit, or trying too hard to act cool. Just call the next day, for real. Within 24 hours if you can. If you don't want to be viewed as trying too hard then don't. Pick up the phone right away with confidence and say something straight and simple. Do not agonize about not being too funny or entertaining enough. The more you sound run-off-the-mill then the more experienced and even confident you will sound. That my friends, believe it or not, is sexy.

2. Make your date feel jealous. If you see that your date is somehow preoccupied with another person or something else other than keeping his eyes on you, the first thing that might cross your mind is to make them jealous? Most women do this in order to draw the attention back to them. Wrong! This time, it's too obvious and will make you look insecure, needy and dependent that you need his attention. Make concentrate on your life, the moment and not just on him. If you take your partner to a party for instance, to make him feel jealous; you'd get to talk with others and not mind him too much. How will that make him feel? Jealous? Slightly. Offended? Yes. Insulted? Yes. Attracted? No. It may seem obvious and fake on your part too. Instead let him tag along with you and don't leave them behind. Show him how well rounded and confident you are, that you are self-assured and have your own goals.

3. Try and play down your accomplishments. This goes out especially to women. Women should never try to impress a guy and flaunt out her accomplishments. Today, it's not even a big deal. Men tend to be drawn to successful women. Men want women who have drive and ambitions, whose life not only revolve on their mates. Who doesn't want a clever and successful person to be a partner? Who can support themselves and their future family as well. If you have some accomplishments then tell them about it. Tell them about it. Shine when you are out on a date.
