Keep your old fashioned walking, jogging or cycling as part of your active lifestyle but never replace proper exercise with recreational activities.Your strength training program done at the correct level of intensity will ensure your fat burning machinery (your metabolism) is boosted so it can set an army of fat gobbling muscle cells to work every minute of the day and night reducing your body fat level. On the other hand your recreational activities will only burn fuel while you are doing them and your metabolism is not boosted to any extent to help you burn body fat.This is the difference between the old ways of burning fat and the new better ways.
