You're on the running machine and your lungs are burning, your head feels slightly lighter, your legs feel like they are going to collapse and it feels so painful that you just love it. Well I have got a miracle cure for you and it's called hard work, motivation, self determination, whatever you want to coin it, but it works. And I guarantee you that it's the only one that really does. If you want to lose weight you must only do a couple of things:
- Eat less saturated fat, sugary foods and processed meat. Eat more vegetables, complex carbohydrates, fruit, lean meats and a whole lot of other healthy food. Eat regularly and by that I mean you should be eating 6 small meals a day. If you can't manage that 3 meals a day is fine to start but if you really are serious about losing weight you should try and adopt a more frequent eating routine consisting of small meals.
- Use natural weight loss supplements of which there are several. Weight loss pills help you burn that weight off in weeks rather than months. They can really help keep you motivated, you will start to see the weight drop off much quicker than you would do without them.
Don't' miss breakfast. I say again, don't miss breakfast. No-one's lying to you when they say it's the most important meal of the day, it is. Breakfast wakes up your metabolism and kick starts your body for the day.
- Exercise hard. You've heard the military expression "train hard fight easy" right? Well train hard in the gym and your body will easily burn more calories than you eat and that equals weight loss.
Many of you will know that I like to finish off by telling you all a killer session I like to do in the gym so that you can give it a go. Today's is a screamer and it's very simple. It is also perfect for you to do with a friend and the best thing about training with a friend is that you can spur each other on, plus it's much more fun training with someone else.
Both of you get on a rowing machine next to each other and then whoever's going first rows for 500m at a fast pace. As soon as they have completed the 500m, the other person rows for five hundred meters. When they have finished the first person rows again for 500m. Repeat this so that you both do 500m each.
After the last person has done their 500m, the first person rows for 400m. Change over after each row as before until you have done 4 x 400m rows each. Guessed what's next? After the last person has rowed their fourth 400m row, the first person rows 300m. Adopt the same routine again, this time complete 3 x 300m rows each.
Now do 2 x 200m rows each and finish off with a maximum effort final 100m row. How fast you push each row is up to you but you want to be feeling tired after each row. As you get fitter, obviously you row each leg a little faster than before. This exercise is a really good interval training session and will force your heart to work very hard. Bring this into your exercise routine but start off by only doing it once a week.
