It can be hard to stick to a slow a steady diet with all the gimmicks, pills and diets popping up daily. Just remember that they are just fads and they will not likely help you keep off the weight permanently. Losing weight slowly and at a steady rate will also insure that it continues because it is more likely, new habits you are forming such as a more healthy diet and consistent exercise.

If you do want to lose weight fast the best way to do so is not just changing your diet but by combining a healthy diet with an active lifestyle. Being active is very important and it is best to incorporate aerobic exercise as well as some form of strength training. Most people just do aerobic exercises like running or jogging on the treadmill and this is good if done consistently, but weight training is also very beneficial.

When you do strength training you are building muscle. In order to build muscle your body uses your excess fat as an energy source which in turn helps you lose weight. Even after you have finished lifting weights, your body is still burning calories. This is a major difference in strength training compared to aerobics and is why it is so powerful to combine the two.

It may seem like a lot of work, but there is a price you have to pay in order to look the way you want. Also you can do 3 days of cardio and 2 days of weight training. You do not have to do both types of workouts all in the same day. Alternatively you can do 3 days of workouts where yo warm up with aerobics and then finish with weight training or vice versa. It is all up to you and what you feel works best for you.

If you are trying to lose weight permanently then remember that fad diets and quick weight loss is usually not long term and can even lead to gaining more weight. Incorporate some of the above tips in your lifestyle and you will lose weight slowly but permanently. Once you start to see the results you will be happy you followed this advice.
