Kobe Bryant Basketball Shoes Are Distinct And Lightweight
Kobe Bryant basketball shoes are a popular shoe model made by Nike
. In December of 2010, the sixth incarnation of the Zoom Kobe series was released. Shoes from Bryant are always popular and the Kobe VI is expected to be the same.
A wide range of colorways is available to the Zoom Kobe sneakers. Periodically, though, Nike releases unique editions of the Bryant sneaker. Though Adidas was the first maker of the official Bryant sneaker, Nike helped explode the popularity of his sneakers.
The first affiliation for Bryant with Nike was the Air Zoom Huarache 2K4. It was followed the next year with the 2K5. This 2K5 was the first to feature his new Nike logo. It is alleged to symbolize a samurai warrior.
It was the Air Zoom Kobe I that was the first official Bryant Nike shoe. December 25, 2005, was its debut. Several weeks later, Bryant was wearing them when he scored 81 points in one game.
Zoom Kobe II and Zoom Kobe III came next. Each offered better cushioning, stability, and support. Because Bryant wore a different shoe for most of the season the ZKII was released, however, it has always been rumored that Bryant did not care for the ZKII.
As Bryant wore Hyperdunks in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, many thought it would be his fourth shoe. It was not. Instead, it was the Zoom Kobe IV that came next and created such a stir. It was very light, but its distinctive feature was its being low-cut, which is rare among NBA players.
Rated as comfortable by ballers everywhere, fans also liked that the shoe came in many different color schemes. These each has special names, like All-Star Game, Del Sol, and Carpe Diem. More special editions were the Minneapolis Lakers edition, the Draft Day Hornets Edition, the 2009 NBA Finals editions, and more.
Late in 2009, Nike dropped the Zoom Kobe V on the public. It was available in more than twenty color schemes. Also a low-top, the ZKV was more lightweight than the ZKIV. When released, the ZKV was the lowest-cut and most lightweight hoops shoe Nike made.
The low cut of the sneaker was inspired in part by the world game of soccer. Bryant played soccer growing up and wanted a court shoe that allowed him to move in the same way. And it weighed less than eleven ounces.
The variety of the color patterns that the Zoom Kobe V were available in was vast. Some hues were Los Angeles Lakers related, including the regular Home edition, a second Home addition, an Away edition, and a Playoff Pack. Versions recreated from the ZKIV included Del Sol, Chaos, All-Star Game, Draft Day Hornets, and others.
New colorways not officially introduced for ZK IV included one each for Duke University and the University of Southern California. There was also a Lower Merion High School Edition and a Team USA edition. Three unique color schemes included a Martin Luther King, Jr., edition, a Dark Knight edition, and a Bruce Lee version.
