It's All In The Name - 'Faliraki' may not sound as sweet as 'St Paul's, Lindos' but its wedding venues are sweeter!

, Lindos' but its wedding venues are sweeter!
Faliraki, some years ago, when the government was in summer recess, took a beating from the British press that has yet to be forgotten. Given that consequently Ibiza, Agia Napa, Bodrum, Malia and other summer-sun resorts took similar beatings for exactly the same reasons, which have all been long obliterated from the British memory, why is it that the word 'Faliraki' causes many members of the general British public to recoil in disgust? I suggest to you that it is simply a case of alliteration....the 'F' word, having become such a permanent feature of British speech, pairs well with the name 'Faliraki' when a reporter, presenter, public figure... needs to compare some socially driven British obscenity with a 'somewhere' that s/he is personally ignorant of, but sounds good to the ear.
Enough! Faliraki is no longer a resort overflowing with British youth that can onlyhave a 'good time' when their senses are dulled by alcohol - indeed these clients moved on very quickly after Faliraki hit the spotlight, circa 2004.
The resort of Faliraki has reinvented itself as a cosmopolitan, all-age-welcomingresort and locals have made every effort to provide the amenities worthy of such a resort. Faliraki's 5km stretch of golden sand, dotted with tavernas, cafeterias and 4* and 5* hotels, boasts 12 FEE Blue Flags. Faliraki is home to the largest Water Park in Europe, a state-of-the-art indoor bowling park, two fully air conditioned indoor fun-parks for families with younger children and a History Park which brings Greek history to life. Regular boats link Faliraki with the towns of Rhodes, Lindos and even the island of Symi.
